Greg's Yellow Boxster at my First Concours

1. Competition car washing.
2. A silly test devised to find the most anal person of those who enter.
3. A futile attempt to get some respect for being really good at washing one's car.

I've never been to a concours event, let alone enter one, so I had no idea what to expect. I spent a couple hours cleaning up my car after last week's track event and since I was taking my dad to Navy Pier for Father's Day anyway, I thought why not, might as well enter my car in class E (Exhibition). I just didn't realize that cars in class E get judged too! If I knew that I probably would have done a slightly better job!

The event was sponsored by PCA Chicago and held at Chicago's Navy Pier. The weather couldn't have been more perfect!

Even though Lee was giving me a hard time for having too many Porsche pictures on my web site I'm putting up pictures of my favorite cars.

The site of the Concours. Viewed: 34 times.	Just got my car into position and ready for judging. Viewed: 97 times.	My mom and brother-in-law wanted a picture in the car. Viewed: 102 times.
John cleaned up his 914 quite well after last week's track event. Viewed: 65 times.	The yellow around the gauges is the original color of the car. Viewed: 83 times.	Nice black RS America. Viewed: 87 times.
This was my favorite Porsche color of the event. This is Gulf Blue, the same color the Porsche racing team used in the 70's. Viewed: 236 times.	Another view along size a really clean 911 Viewed: 102 times.	A really nice 930 slant-nose. Viewed: 132 times.
This really sharp 928 was parked next to me. Viewed: 69 times.	A really clean 1985 928 at the head of another row of cars. Viewed: 41 times.	A very nice 911. How did he get those Fuchs so shiny? Viewed: 70 times.
Another 911. Viewed: 67 times.	Dan's 356 is very impressive, especially considering the car is 40 years old. Viewed: 46 times.	This rosewood steering wheel is the most impressive part of the car. Viewed: 45 times.
Another very impressive 356. Viewed: 44 times.	I think this 356 did VERY well. Viewed: 65 times.	Not surprising consider the credentials. Viewed: 106 times.
