This page describes wiring up a garage door opener to a Porsche switch and installing it in one of the blanks in the Boxster console. This will not work if the car is equipment with heated seats as the blanks will be filled.

In my case, I needed to wire up a two-button Genie Intellicode garage door opener as my alley has a remote controlled gate in addition to the garage. I purchased the remote at Home Depot for around $27. I chose the regular sized model as it uses a 12V battery, so if I ever want to wire it into the car battery, I could do so easily. I then had the remote programmed to both my garage and the gate. The round button opens my garage, the triangular button opens the gate.
