| The Castle in Prague, Czech Republic |
Here is a view of the Prague Castle from the Old Town part of Prague, across the river. |
I'm just a sucker for some nice Gothic architecture. The cathedral doesn't disappoint. |
No Gothic catheral would be complete without spectacular stained glass. |
Although it took 500 years to build the cathedral, most of the stained glass was installed in the early 20th century. |
Inside the cathedral is this 2 ton solid silver coffin for the Prague patron saint. |
A typical feature of Gothic architecture are flying buttresses. |
Even the rain drainage is handled properly. |
This is the largest room room in the old section of the castle itself. It used to be used for jousting matches and other entertainment. |
Here is a shot of the main gate into the castle, including two guards posted out front. |
We weren't in Prague long enough to wait in line 6 hours to see the display of the royal jewels. Instead I took a picture of the poster. |
I took a picture of this park near the castle since it's supposed to appear in the movie Le Miserables. |
I don't remember what this building was. I did have some amazing bells. |
