Caribbean Gardens

It's been a great visit to Miami so before we head back to cold dreary Chicago we visited our Chicago neighbors who have a winter places in Naples, Florida. The trip took a little over 2 hours with no traffic.

Once there we found the zoo pretty easily, it's very close to the center of Naples. I guess that's not that surprising since the Zoo has been at this location since 1919.

The zoo itself isn't very big. It's sort of part zoo part botanical gardens and makes for a pleasant day. One of the highlights for us was the 20 minute Primate Expedition Cruise, where you get on a small pontoon boat and a guide takes you around the man-made lake showing you the various small islands inhabited by Monkeys and Lemurs. The other highlight was the Predator show. The finale of that included a very up close an personal visit by a pair of Indian Tigers.

Next Section: I can't believe there is yet another zoo-like kid friendly attraction like Monkey Jungle.
