NotesThe second dive we did was a fairly well protected bay.
Once we snorkeled out past the swarms of swimmers and snorklers, we descended
and headed out to the right side, where some other divers told us we could find
the best stuff.
On the way out we saw a school of Goatfish just sitting on the sandy bottom.
The coral formations where larger and more impressive than the previous site.
The visibility was quite bad, mostly because there was tons of little bits
of algae floating in the water everywhere you looked.
We saw many Pufferfish this dive. We also saw the following: Blue Boxfish,
Trumpetfish, two Zebra Moray Eels, one tiny Eel in a hole, various Triggerfish,
Pennantfish, various Wrasses, various Butterflyfish, many Pebble Collector Urchins,
various Hawkfish, several Slate-Pencil Sea Urchins.
There were also some Blue Cravelle off in the distance. Lily said she saw
in Ray of some sort, but I didn't see it and she couldn't tell me what kind
it was.

Can you spot the Commerson's Frogfish in this picture? I was surprised I found it on my own without a divemaster. Here's a hint: It's slightly above the middle of the picture and brown with white patches. Viewed: 103 times. | Here's the school of Goatfish in shallow water. Viewed: 104 times. | As we were swimming out we were passed by a couple divers with these cool underwater scooters! Viewed: 97 times. |
The Pebbled Butterflyfish is endemic to Hawaii. Viewed: 57 times. | I took a picture of this Urchin because it looked deep blue under water. The blue didn't really come out in the picture. Viewed: 52 times. | I think Filefish are cool, and this Fantail Filefish is no exception. Viewed: 68 times. |
As I swam by, I saw this huge Zebra Moray Eel mostly out of its daytime hiding place. Viewed: 123 times. | He moved really slowly so I was able to snap this picture from a closer perspective, but the head was already in a hole. Viewed: 160 times. | Not a very good picture, but my first of a Spiny Porcupinefish. Viewed: 74 times. |
I guess this Lei Triggerfish is pretty common in Hawaii, but I didn't see that many. Viewed: 95 times. |   |   |
