Wisconsin Deer Park

Among the hundreds of attractions in the Wisconsin Dells one of the few that has stood the test of time is Wisconsin Deer Park. This is an attraction that I remember when I was a kid and now I'm taking my kids there.

It's located right in the middle of the main strip. When you enter through the gift shop you find a small picnic area. Although food isn't allowed in the animal area we were allowed to have a picnic lunch here. The next area has some small pens containing cute cudly animals such as Goats, Three Little Pigs, Lemurs and some others.

After that you enter the main attraction, which are two large open areas each containing dozens of Deer. The areas have paths where the guest are supposed to stay on leaving the vast majority of the areas off-limits to humans where the Deer can roam without being bothered. I highly recommed buying the ice cream cones filled with corn and other seeds. The Deer REALLY love those and will go nuts when you approach them with a cone. There are some crackers sold at the ticket counter that the Deer didn't like so much but many of the other animals loved. I was told by the staff that the Deer seem to prefer the crackers in the mornings and the ice cream cones with corn in the afternoons.

In the back of the park were some pens with various other interesting animals but the Deer are the main attraction.
