I would normally not considering going to a boxing match in the States but when I travel I like to see as much that is unique to that culture as possible. That's why I just had to see one Muay Thai fight, also known as Thai Kickboxing.

I bought VIP tickets through my hotel's concierge for the Friday night fight at Lumphini Stadium. We got there a bit after it started so we ended up with not so great seats. Fortunately as people left we were able to move to better and better seats.

The fights themselves were interesting. First thing we noticed is just how young most of the fighters looked. I'm guess most were under 18. Many of the fights weren't exciting, a lot of holding against the ropes, but the good fights were really good.

It was also a very small "old school" stadium meant you can meet the fighters after the fights in the back room.
