Siem Reap is a small town and mostly it's known as where one flies into
to visit Angkor Wat. We stayed at the Grand Luxe Hotel and Spa which
turned out to be wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and it's far enough
from the noisy main road to be peaceful yet close enough to get anywhere
you wanted to get with a short Tuk Tuk ride. In all I found it far more
Asiany than either Phuket or Bangkok.
The town was decked out for the holidays. It was surprisingly festive
considering Christmas is only celebrated by tourists. That said the
signs were often very humorous and sometimes even misspelled.
