After a lot of travel we decided to get the best and most popular hike out of the way first since we were all rested. The hike was the ~6 mile hike up to the base of de las Torres. We were told it was mostly pretty easy and only steep for the very end. It started out cold but warmed up quickly so we stripped off most of our outerwear within the first hour and hiked for a while in t-shirts. Deeper in the valley the winds were a little stronger so we put jackets back on.

It was a more difficult hike than we expected but still doable. Giselle unfortunately stopped minutes from the end. I really think she could have made it to the top and it would have been worth it.

At the top was a small lake surrounded by the Torres, the steep peaks that make this area famous. There were a few clouds but otherwise the view was spectacular. We were told it can be cold and windy up there but we were lucky since it wasn't that windy and only a little chilly. We sat there and enjoyed our lunch while taking in the view.

We had a deadline of being back to the start of the hike by 6pm to catch our ride back to the Rio Serrano. Jasmine and I took off after resting but Melanie and Steve decided to linger a little while longer. It was a very tiring hike and my feet were pretty sore by the end. Melanie and Steve timed their return perfectly as they got back at 6pm on the dot!!! As we were driving away we spotted a Fox behind some bushes. Steve got out and snuck around to get some pictures from a better angle without spooking it.
