The cruise starts in Vanouver, one of my favorite cities. We stayed a couple nights at our friend Melanie's new condo across the street from Stanley Park. Since we had such a limited time here we just dropped our stuff off and immediately went to walk around Stanley Park. We got some lunch at the Fish House right in the park. It was just ok.

We then walked around the south part of the park, stopping to take in the Totem Poles. On the way back we ran into Sandra and Rob.

Richmond Night Market

One of our favorite sites in Vancouver was the Richmond Night Market. Not only was it pretty easy to get to by public transit but it was pretty lively. The weather was great so it was packed. We skipped most of the silly stalls selling misc crap and mostly enjoyed the food stalls. More variety of meats on sticks than I've seen just about anywhere.

Grouse Mountain and Capilano Suspension Bridge

We thought the most fun would be Grouse Mountain but turns out there really wasn't that much hiking there. It was mostly just walking around and looking at stuff, not that there's anything wrong with it. The highlights were actually seeing a Pika and visiting with one of the Bears.

The Capilano Suspension bridge looked good in the pictures but not only was it SUPER CROWDED but was also no big deal, it was sold as being very high up but it was just a little shaky and the views from the bridge were only so-so. The recently added Treetops Adventure however was kinda fun for the kids, even some of the big ones.
