2nd day we went to the Toronto Zoo to visit the Giant Panda's on loan from China and then to Casa Loma.

The Pandas were definitely the highlight but the rest of the zoo was nice too, plus the weather was perfect. We did get tired after about half of it so we cut it short so we could get some lunch and still hit our last stop in Toronto, Casa Loma.

Casa Loma

Our last stop in Toronto, Casa Loma. We didn't plan to go here but since we bought the Toronto City pass and this was the only other thing included that we were at all interested in, we went.

This is an impressive house built between 1911-1914 by Sir Henry Mill Pellatt. The house is now a museum mostly because over the years the house got too costly to maintain so it was eventlly seized by the city for unpaid taxes. The house has 98 rooms and over 64,700 square feet, secret passages, a tunnel and an impressive antique car collection. Interesting but not worth going out of your way for. The least impressive is we went up to the Scottish Tower for which there was a long line for the very narrow spiral staircase. We waited a while only to find it was hot and stuffy up there and not much to look at so we immediately headed back down.
