The most exciting way to blow a lot of money in Vegas. I find gambling pretty boring. I've had friends try to teach me the various games and after a while I always find myself saying "when does this get fun?"

However I've always been a little bit of a speed freak/adrenaline junkie. John did some research and picked Exotics Racing about 20 miles north of Las Vegas. It's a well run outfit that has a very wide selection of exotic sports cars (at a variety of price points) and provide a very nice experience.

It starts by choosing which cars you want to drive and for how many laps. Then they have you go into a classroom and tell you about what's going to happen and give you a VERY brief lesson in driving cars fast around a race track. They then had someone take out three people at a time in a Porsche Cayenne Turbo for some surprisingly quick laps around the track. This was great to see the track as a passenger before getting into the really fast cars.

You then get fitted for a helmet and wait to be assigned to a driver. The driver takes you to the car, shows you around the controls of the car and then takes you out on your laps. The entire time he's giving you instructions on how to take the car around the track as fast as possible.

For me the laps seemed to go by way too fast. It took a good 5 laps to just learn the line around the track let alone get fast. I wanted to take the R8 out first to learn the track before going out in the Huracan, but because we were pressed for time I took whichever car was available first which was the Huracan. Even though the R8 is a slower car my lap times in that car weren't much slower since I had a good feel for the track.
