Royal Palace in Warszawa, Poland

Before we started the tour, our guide showed us a scale model of the Palace and told us about how it was totally destroyed during World War II and completely rebuilt over the past decades.

The first room we were shown is this ballroom.

The Polish people took great pains to insure accuracy of the rebuilt palace. Notice all the detail on the walls and ceilings.

I thought this was a nice looking table. A lot of the furniture was shipped off to various countries before the Nazis destroyed it. What wasn't returned was rebuilt.

Many of the rooms had ceilings this elaborate. Wow!

This little room was the King's private chapel for one.

One of my favorite rooms. The ceiling and walls where covered with stone such as marble and granite.

An example of the art covered walls. This happens to be of Sampson fighting a lion. The painting was hanging over a doorway.

In the same room, over a different doorway, was this painting. If I remember, this is of Justice.

Obviously the kings hated blank walls, so many of them where COMPLETELY covered by paintings.

This is the bed in the Queen's bedroom.

I liked this painting. One of the Kings didn't like the Polish royal garb because it looked so boring, so he had himself painted in Spanish royal attire.
