Upper Peninsula, Michigan : Trip Report

Current weather in Ironwood, Michigan: |
A lot of snow is a definite understatement. We went the week after Christmas and they had already received in excess of 60 inches of snow, in addition to the stuff they were making. The temperatures were in the single digits and teens so a lot of additional snow was being made. The roads however were treacherous but I put the snow tires on the car which I think made a huge difference. We were able to easily pass just about everything else on the road including SUVs.
Whitecap Mountains
Our first stop was at Whitecap Mountains a small resort at the far north end of Wisconsin. We chose this spot as it was close to our hotel and we read they got a ton of fresh snow the past few days.

Big Powderhorn Mountain
The second day we drove over the border into Michigan to Big Powderhorn. This place also got a lot of snow plus they were busy making more the whole time we were there.

Indianhead Mountain
The final day we visited Indianhead Mountain where we spent most of the day then drove home. This was our favorite probably because there were getting a ton of snow the whole time we were there. It felt like fresh powder every time we went down the hill. The runs were also quite wide and there were several jumps for me to try out.
