Norwegian Sea Cruise : Trip Report

Now that we have a baby we decided to choose a less "adventuresome" vacation. Best of all Betsy and Howard were experienced "cruisers" so they recommended a cruise as an alternative. After doing some research we settled on NCL's Norwegian Sea. Since we haven't cruised before we also chose a short 5 night / 4 day itinerary to Cozumel, Playa del Carmen and Grand Cayman. The plan was that we would try to do some diving in both Cozumel and Grand Cayman

Long story short it was a good choice, especially for the price. The food and service on the ship was very good and the diving was great. We just would have preferred more time for shore activities and less "at sea" time. Freestyle dining is definitely a plus. I can't imagine having to be on a fixed dining schedule.

The ShipThe Ship
The Norwegian Sea is an older ship having a service entry date of 1988 but it had recently be refurbished. Although parts of the ship looked dated the facilities seemed to be in good working condition.

The Diving The Diving
About the only thing we wanted (or had time) to do was a little bit of diving in both Cozumel and Grand Cayman.
