Park City Mountain Resort : Park City, Utah : Trip Report
| Jump to: |
There was one lift right there so we quickly got on that and worked our way up to a nice high peak to avoid the slushy bottom. Unfortunately all the lifts were chair lifts, there are no gondolas at this resort. Not a problem since most of the chair lifts are the fast detachable 6 person ones.
It was going pretty well until we wanted to try a long easy run we saw on the trail map. It started out very narrow, even for the skiers. Then it got very flat which made it difficult for the snowboarders. The rest of the runs we went on were pretty decent.
Unfortunately Lily had new boots that were giving her a lot of trouble. We cut the day short and worked out way down to the lodge and did some shopping.

Video Clip: The following video clip is very short and contains a little of Ling skiing and Lily falling on her snowboard. Not very interesting. 45K Modem RealVideo (48 seconds) |

Under the new snow there was still ice from the big freeze the previous day. However there were quite a few runs where we could find some decent powder to try out. After we had a good time on those runs we found a nice run with decent packed powder. We goofed off and practiced wheelies and worked on our technique. For a few runs Mark and I swapped snowboards. I like this board because it had Flow bindings which are very supportive without the pressure points of my old style strap bindings.
Since we were freezing, especially near the top where the wind was howling, we cut the day a little short. We still had a great time.
