Snowbasin Resort

On our third day in Park City we boarded a chartered bus to take us on the 45 minute journey to the new Snowbasin resort. The weather was a bit cooler than the previous two days but still above freezing. At least the rain that was predicted didn't show up. It was still very slushy at the bottom but the top half of the mountain was pretty decent.

The first thing we noticed about this ski resort is that it has the nicest lodges any of us have seen. Even the bathrooms look more at home in a luxury hotel or upscale department store than a ski resort. The lack of any crowds made it even better.

We started with some really nice runs in the morning. Unfortunately some of the best looking runs at the far end of the resort were closed due to winds and probably the lack of people. We still found enough interesting runs to keep us busy, even a couple surprisingly easy Black Diamonds. The highlight of our day was seeing a pair of Moose walking through the snow from the gondola.
