More info!Frommer's San Diego 2004
Great travel book. This is less of a reference than the other
books and more of a good read about the location. Good to read
before your trip but not as good to carry with you on your trip.

More info!Fodor's San Diego 18th ed.
This is one of the definitive travel resources that's a must for
any trip.
It contains complete and accurate information about places to stay
but the hotels and restaurants tend to be at the upper end.

This is a book I found out about after our trip. Boy, this looks like
it would have been the ideal reference.
