The kitchen was small but functional with all the appliances you expect and a breakfast bar. There was no dining room. Out back was a deck the full width of the house with a gas grill at one end and a outdoor table with four chairs at the other. The cabin backed up to the golf course so the view was pretty nice.
The furnishings were very woodsy in style but had nice touches such as a plasma TV and DVD player in the living room with surround sound. The three larger bedrooms each had TVs in the rooms too. We all really liked the double-sided fireplace in the livingroom that could be enjoyed inside or from the outside. Nice touch.
We only visited one of the water parks at the Wilderness Resort. We chose the New Frontier Waterpark because of their large "kiddie" areas. The park had a very wide variety of attractions: wave pool, several shallow kiddie areas, indoor and outdoor lazy rivers, many water slides and the highlight was the Hurricane "funnel" ride. The Hurrance was kind of cool. You pick up a 4 person cloverleaf shaped tube, then walk up four flights of stairs where you get into a large water slide which deposits you into the funnel. Once in the funnel you slide up one side, then back down and up the other side and eventually you get funneled to the bottom where the ride ends.
We also liked the variety of water slides. Our favorites were the indoor ones that were "dark" meaning PITCH BLACK! Once in the tube there is no light and you find yourself sliding around with no point of reference or warning of what is coming. It ends with a sudden burst of light and a large splash. Fun stuff. The big kids, also known as adults, really liked those.
