South Florida: Trip Report

Current weather in Hallandale, Florida:
|
We returned to stay in Hallandale again for the first half of July. People
think we're crazy but we love going in July and August. The restaurants aren't
as crowded and since our kids just hang out at the pool, they don't get cold
when it's 95 degrees outside all day, every day.
We spent most of the time just hanging with family but we did do a couple
"touristy" attractions. We took the kids to Wannado City, one of their favorite
attactions, and they had a promo. For only $19.95 more we could get a season
pass for the rest of the summer to return to Wannado City or go to the
Miami Seaquarium or the Miami Metro Zoo. Since it's super hot we chose the
Seaquarium.
The visit to Kennedy Space Center was a last minute thing when we found out
the shuttle launch had been scheduled for Saturday night. We ended up staying
the weekend but never did witness the launch. Bummer, but still a great
visit.

Miami Seaquarium
It's been a while since we last visited the Miami Seaquarium. It's
as much fun as we remember. The shows are nice and best of all it's pretty
close to downtown Miami.

Kennedy Space Center
We had no plans for the weekend so when we found out the Shuttle Endeavour
(STS-127) was scheduled to launch on Saturday we decided to drive up.
We ended up staying the weekend but didn't get to see the launch.
