Third Day at Heavenly Mountain

Last day on the mountain for Lily and myself. The rest of the gang was staying an extra day at the end in addition to an extra day before we arrived. The weather forecast wasn't promising. Strong winds were predicted and there was some doubt if the Gondola would even be open. In the morning the winds weren't bad but it was quite cold. Later in the day the winds picked up and the Gondola was closed as were a couple lifts on the Nevada side. Instead we stayed on the California side which was better protected from the wind.

After lunch Lily and I stayed and watched the kids for a while. After that I joined up with the Marks and did a few more runs. The Marks found a cool run called Powderbowl Woods which I thought was the best run on the mountain. We did that a few times and then we made our way back.

Since the Gondola was closed we had to download to the California Lodge. I guess we could have done a run called "The Face" but none of us are huge fans of moguls. The view coming down was spectacular as always.
