Tahoe, California: Trip Report

Second trip to Lake Tahoe in 2009, once again with the kids. This time
we opted for a townhome for more space. We stayed at Lakeland Village
which is a bit from the Gondola but has free shuttles that are available
all day to take you to from the Gondola or just about anywhere else in Tahoe
with a simple phone call.
It may not have been as "swanky" as the Embassy Suites but the extra space of a townhome and a full kitchen more than made up for it. Once again we brought the kids and this time we stayed two days longer. Our five year old took Snowboarding lessons for the first time and was so exhausted after the first day that she wanted to do nothing the next day. We were able to re-arrange her classes.
The seven year old spent
four days on the mountain, three in classes and the fourth she wanted to
just hang with mom and dad on the mountain. She even did a few blue runs
with us and did quite well. We did accidentally take her on a mogul run
and she handled it well.
Lake Tahoe is quite large and there are several mountains surrounding it. We stayed in South Tahoe near the Heavenly Ski Resort which is the largest in the area. Viewed: 17 times.
Very early in the season but still plenty of snow. Viewed: 9 times. |
