This was my second autocross ever and Lily's first. The venue was the
Bennett Raceway in Utica, Illinois and was sponsored by PCA Chicago.
Bennett Raceway is actually a go-kart track! I really wanted to make this
event as this would be the last PCA Chicago event at this track as the track
is being closed down at the end of the year and rumor has it the owners are
going to turn it into a tree nursery of all things!!!
Besides Lily, Jason and Craig also came with their cars. Shawn, temporarily Porsche-less, co-drove Jason's 993. As Shawn has been doing this a while he got some really impressive times especially considering it wasn't his own car! He did also get an impressive spin, see the video below. My times consitently improved all day and my best time was around :54. Lily's times were were pretty consistently in the 1:04 range with her best being 1:04.157. Jason also improved consistently all day and just beat me with a :53 best lap time. Shawn of course killed us all with a :50!!!
