Shore Excursion to Isla San Cristobal

Our second shore excursion in the Galapagos was at the northern tip of Isla San Cristobal at an area known as Punta Pitt. This was a shore excursion where we would see more of the endemic Galapagos flora and fauna. This one involved a pretty good hike up between two hills. Here we saw more Sea Lions, Marine Iguanas and just a couple Sally Lightfoot Crabs. We also saw a couple Blue Footed Boobies, one of which had a "Baby Booby".

This was an ok excursion. We thought we'd see the other varieties of Boobies here but unfortunately we saw one Red Footed Booby fly over quickly and the other Boobies we only saw from a great distance. Bummer.

Hi, I really enjoyed looking at your pictures.  What did you think of San Cristobal?  I am going there for a month and a half to do Volunteer work.  What are the people like?  I am very excited about my trip and would like any insight you might have.

Thanks

Paul

your trip looks interesting and fun.I am doing a science project on San Cristabol and would appreciate it if you could e-mail me some facts if you collected any. I would preferably like to have facts on the statistics of San Cristabol, But anything will do.
                                                  Thanx,
