South Beach & Art Deco District

When most people say they are going to Miami or Miami Beach they usually refer to "South Beach", the southern tip of the Miami Beach. This is the historic section with lots of wonderful Art Deco architecture, great hotels, wonderful dining and the famous nightlife.

A very interesting building on Washington Avenue.

Hotels on Ocean Drive.

The former Versace Mansion now a private club called Casa Casuarina.

The beach is pretty quiet in the morning.

The famous Delano Hotel on Collins Avenue.

Even the Beach Patrol Headquarters is in the Art Deco style.

Every evening on Lincoln Road Mall is lively.

Very quiet Art Deco Weekend shortly after a torrential downpour.

The hard to miss China Grill on 5th Street.

And finally a nicely restored Beacon Hotel on Ocean Drive.
