Wilderness Resort

Boy, did the Wilderness Resort change in the 10 months since we were last there. The Great Wave is now covered. The big funnel ride is now covered, and not just covered but made easier. Last year the riders had to grab a cloverleaf shaped tube at the ground floor then walk up about 5 flights of stairs. Now, in true American fashion it's been improved. The tubes are now pulled upstairs by a giant conveyor belt-like contraption so the riders just have to walk themselves up to the top where the employee pulls the tube off the conveyor and puts in the water for you then you just hop in and go. My prediction: next year they put in an elevator or escalator to remove that last bit of potential exercise.

The Villas were nice and close to the action. As you can see from the pictures below our Villa was right next to the wave pool so it was a short walk to a gate and we were in the park. We had some rain the 2nd morning but since everything is now covered it was no problem. However, when the sun came out the enclosed area does get pretty hot. It was a relief to go to the outdoor areas to cool off a little. I really hope they never cover the whole place.

The Villas are nice big townhomes.

Our view from the front balcony.

In back was a small sitting area and a woodsy view.

Large kitchen with plenty of empty cabinets.

Dining area and living room.

The front bedroom with two large beds.

The newly covered Great Wave.

The kiddie pool on the side.

Lots of sitting, a restaurant and a small gift shop.

More stuff and more clutter.

Lots of water slides in the old covered area.
