Hiking Trip!

My first trip to the Grand Canyon!

I've been traveling the world enjoying the best of many country's natural beauty but haven't really explored that much in the US. After this experience I think I'll be doing more of that.

Amy started planning this after her last visit here in September 2016. Steve joined in never having hiked/camped before in his life. We planned to do a bunch of things on this one trip: Rim to rim hike, rafting down the Colorado River and hiking to Havasu Falls. Unfortunately we weren't able to do the rim to rim but had an amazing time on the rafting and Havasu Falls trips.

Briefly, we flew to Phoenix, spent the night in Scottsdale, then drove towards the Grand Canyon and stopped in Sedona to do a short warm-up hike. We spent the night in Flagstaff and did the three day/two night rafting trip with Canyoneers starting the following morning. The rafting trip finished with us hiking out the South Rim. We spent a night near there South Rim then drove to the North Rim. We spent the night there and did some hiking in the area before driving back to Flagstaff. The following morning we drove to the Havasu Falls trail head where we met up with the operator for the three day/two night trip there. After that we drove straight to Phoenix and spent the afternoon/evening relaxing before flying back to our respective homes the next morning.
